Here are the carbs you should be eating
How to lose weight by consuming complex carbs
What’s up Drip Fam,
If you want to lose weight without cutting out carbohydrates, let’s talk.
We’ve all been told the myth that you can’t lose weight without cutting carbs.
We’ve been told that all carbs store fat, make you gain weight, and will completely ruin any progress you make with your diet or gym routine.
But what if I told you that’s not true? What if I told you that you can still become lean, get shredded, and obtain your ideal beach body while still consuming bread, rice, and pasta?
Along my journey of losing 80+ pounds, I learned a lot about maintaining a balanced diet and the right foods to put into my body. Never once did I cut out carbs. Instead, I focused on eating the RIGHT kinds of carbs.
You can do the same.
There are two types of carbohydrates: simple carbs and complex carbs.
Simple carbs are the highly processed foods with added sugars like cookies, cakes, donuts, and sodas. Complex carbs are nutrient-rich foods like whole grains, oats, and lentils.
If you want to lose weight while still including carbohydrates in your diet, focus on consuming complex carbs. You will see immediate physical and mental benefits, including:
Energy boosts: Carbs are your body’s main energy source. They provide your body, brain, and muscles with fuel.
Blood sugar management: Complex carbs break down slowly, providing steady energy and preventing crashes.
Feeling full. Fiber-rich foods like whole grain bread, beans, and vegetables help you feel fuller for longer, reducing hunger and overeating.
So the next time you hit the grocery store and think “I can only buy chicken breasts and broccoli, if I want abs,” just remember: complex carbs like whole grain bread, whole grain pasta, brown rice, quinoa, oats, and sweet potatoes are your friend.
Pair them with a balanced diet of proteins and healthy fats. That weight you’ve been wanting to lose for years will fall off of your body in no time.
